Dry needling is an effective treatment modality aim to reduce muscle tightness and pain caused by trigger point. When muscles get tight, it will create a muscle knot or medically known as Trigger Point. The needle penetrates the skin and goes directly to this “muscle knot” and break the knot, so that you will feel relax, promote healing and decrease your pain sensation.At Reviver, Dry needling is commonly used in conjunction with other modalities to better facilitate your recovery. Is It Painful?

Dry needling is not as painful as many people think, most patient don’t even notice when the needle is inserted. With that being said, some people will feel slight pain and some muscle twitching will occur when the needle is inserted.

Does it have any side effects?

Side effects are generally nonexistence to mild and may include muscle soreness, a bit bruising just like having deep sports massage. In general, we advise patient to put some sort of heat modalities such as heat cream, heat patch or warm water after the needling session. This function to eliminate the soreness and improve the recovery of the area.
