Dry Needling

An effective technique to release muscle tension, reduce pain, and accelerate recovery — used alongside other therapies at Reviver for optimal results.

Dry needling is an effective treatment modality aimed at reducing muscle tightness and pain caused by trigger points. When muscles get tight, they create a muscle knot — medically known as a Trigger Point. The needle penetrates the skin and goes directly to this "muscle knot" and breaks it, so that you feel relaxed, promote healing, and decrease your pain sensation. At Reviver, dry needling is commonly used in conjunction with other modalities to better facilitate your recovery. It is an efficient and effective technique that can help conditions such as back pain, knee pain, neck pain, headaches, and many others.

Is It Painful?

Dry needling is not as painful as many people think — most patients don't even notice when the needle is inserted. With that being said, some people will feel slight pain and some muscle twitching will occur when the needle is inserted.

Does it have any side effects?

Side effects are generally nonexistent to mild and may include muscle soreness, a bit of bruising — just like having a deep sports massage. In general, we advise patients to apply some form of heat such as heat cream, heat patch, or warm water after the needling session. This helps to eliminate soreness and improve recovery of the area.

REVIVER Methods of Dry Needling

There are many dry needling techniques available, usually according to the country in which they are learned. All of our physios are trained with GeMT (Global Education of Manual Therapy) AUSTRALIA Dry Needling Method, which we believe is the most effective and least painful method of dry needling. If you have experienced dry needling that was painful or unpleasant at another clinic, we can assure you that our method is very comfortable, less painful, and more effective.
